Case Study. Oman Sail: A decade of heritage and achievement
Overview: In celebration of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos of Oman's visionary initiative, the Oman Sail project marked it’s 10th anniversary with a comprehensive and inspiring book. Launched with the aim of encouraging Omanis to reconnect with their rich maritime heritage, the initiative has successfully introduced a new generation to the world of sailing.
The book documents this remarkable journey, highlighting the achievements and milestones over the past decade. It showcases how Oman Sail has not only rekindled a love for sailing among Omani people but also fostered a sense of pride and accomplishment. Through captivating narratives and stunning photography, the book captures the spirit of the initiative and the dedication of everyone involved.
From organising international sailing events to establishing sailing schools and nurturing young talent, Oman Sail has become a beacon of national pride and international recognition. This commemorative book stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of His Majesty's vision, celebrating the transformative impact of Oman Sail on the nation and its people.

Sons Creative were asked to design and produce a high quality coffee table style book to commemorate the 10 year anniversary of the Oman Sail initiative. The book would be presented to the late Sultan Qaboos.

Sons Creative partnered with renowned marine photographer Mark Lloyd to create an exquisite coffee table book. After presenting an array of initial ideas the final designs were chosen and refined before working with the team to define the pagination and final content over a period of 6 months. The book was designed in English and translated to Arabic, the photography was meticulously enhanced for high-quality printing. Unique fold-out, die-cut Arabic numerals divide the chapters, adding a tactile, elegant touch. The final book was lithographically printed and bound in the UK. The entire process was handled by Sons.

The culmination of this remarkable project was the production of 100 limited-edition, perfectly bound books, printed to the highest standards using indulgent finishes and advanced printing techniques. These exquisite volumes were distributed to royalty, ministers, and other distinguished individuals, serving as a fitting tribute to the historic achievements of the Oman Sail initiative. This bespoke collection not only commemorates a decade of rekindling Oman's maritime heritage but also celebrates the collective efforts and accomplishments of everyone involved in this transformative journey.
